My wild orchid

You are my wild orchid, dear...rare and incomparable...
You need my ugly love, the fungus that I am, inseparable
Symbiotic, my inner ugliness and your naïve beauty..
One nourishes from the other...Which needs more of the other?
Can beauty survive without ugliness and hither?
Our souls are now shades of grey..
The vice of the fungus and the naiveness of the blooming orchid..
Symbiotic.....a faint line between mutualism and parasitism...

"This is an extremely rare type of wild orchid found across Europe.  Its seeds bear no nourishment for the growing plant, so it lives in a symbiotic relationship with a specific type of fungus, which provides it with nourishment, until the adult leaves can produce enough nourishment for the plant, at which time the fungus will also live off it .”
